The Jon Madof Trio is the newest project from guitarist, composer, and Zion80 and Rashanim founder Jon Madof, whose work has been praised by The New York Times as “a truly soulful experience” and by The Village Voice as “a marvelous mashup.” The trio draws on avant-garde and experimental jazz, post-rock, surf, punk, metal, and more—infused with a deep Jewish soul. Joining Madof in the trio are Yoshie Fruchter (Sandcatchers, David Krakauer) on bass and Nate Rappaport (Zusha, Moshe Sobol Band) on drums.

The trio’s debut album, Netzach, will be released on August 14, 2026 on John Zorn’s Tzadik Records. Zorn writes that Netzach features “a heavier sound and a more orchestral production,” with “lyrical compositions [that] provide a perfect springboard for Madof’s brilliant guitar pyrotechnics,” calling it “modern Jewish music at its raging best.”
